Get ready for a Taste of SwingDom
Maybe you’ve missed it, but it’s going to be a banger! In less than a month you can get a Taste of SwingDom during our two-day Easter festival! Taste of SwingDom (7-8 April) will have two nights of live music, taster classes and a special Saturday Easter hunt. Eleanor will perform on Friday and Leigh, Duncan and Hue will join us on Saturday. What is a Taste of Swingdom without some tasters???
On Friday Viktor Lillard and Teodora Kasabova will teach an intermediate+ workshop! Viktor is a visiting dancer from the US who has been teaching in Amsterdam. He got into contact with Lindy Hop in 2013 in Ohio and continued to spread the joy of swing dancing ever since. He has great knowledge of jazz music and deepens his connection with the historical and cultural roots of Swing by studying Black American social dance. Teodora is one of the main faces of Amserdam’s Swing Philosophy. In her teaching she shows her students that anyone can dance, and guides them to get there. Want to see them in action?

The Saturday beginners taster will be provided by our local talents Sanne and Thijs. Sanne is our Swing in Utrecht chair and has been dancing both as lead and follow for years. Her personal style and understanding of both roles gives her a deeper understanding of connection and allows her to give spot-on feedback to students. Thijs does not only dance swing to Jazz music, his creative attitude also results in applying lindy moves to various music styles. He started teaching in the Utrecht scene after the pandemic and is eager to help others connect to their own movement.
Saturday day activity – Easter hunt!
Do you like chocolate? And do you want to connect with other Taste of SwingDom visitors?Than we have great news! On Saturday we will organize an Easter hunt! We’ll start out with a pot-luck brunch and depending on the weather we’ll prepare several activities which will of course involve some chocolate eggs.
