Registrations Update

Dear and wonderful dancers,We are really gutted to say that we have to postpone registrations for the next block. Because of the persisting Covid regulations we cannot facilitate lessons at a time that would be convenient for either teachers or students, especially with the new lockdown. We were going pretty strong throughout the first block of this season, but unfortunately, we will have to wait again.

Postponing doesn’t mean cancelling though! We are going to try to give you that block, but it might start later and will be a little shorter. We’ll try to have something for you to do in the meantime! Also, we will make preparations for the block that would normally start in April and will be searching for a new international teacher. And oh yeah, that brings us to Blake Thiessen. We are closely looking at the situation and trying to see if we can welcome him to Utrecht in one of the future blocks, but we are sad to say that that won’t be this block or the next.

We’d like to make a special shout out to Tamas Zorko who, with the help of Esther de Lange, has been slaving away at multiple scenarios of multiple versions of the new schedule as his first volunteer job for SiU. His work definitely won’t go to waste, but he has absolutely been our hero for the last few weeks. Thank you so much.

Alright, chin up. It’s Christmas. It’s New Years. We hope we were able to give you at least some dancing memories this year and we’re all looking forward to seeing you again on the dancefloor! We’ll make sure to keep you updated as soon as we know more or the situation changes!

Happy Holidays and lots of love,
The Swing in Utrecht Board
